Case Overview: Mr. Li entrusted Seapoe International to ship his household furniture and belongings from Beijing to Canada by sea.
Mr. Li lived in Canada for over three years on a work visa. After obtaining his permanent residency card, he decided to settle there with his family. Unwilling to part with the furniture filled with memories, he planned to ship it overseas. Following a recommendation from a neighbor with international moving experience, he contacted Seapoe.
The Seapoe team conducted an on-site assessment and customized a packing plan. Packing commenced a few days later: First, the sofa was addressed—cushions were stuffed inside to save space and provide cushioning. The sofa was then tightly wrapped in thick bubble wrap, reinforced with multiple layers of tape, and finally encased in custom-cut, reinforced cardboard. The marble coffee table was packed using a similar technique. For the solid wood table, the team took extra protective measures: first laying bubble wrap on the floor for cushioning, then gently laying the table flat. They wrapped it layer by layer with bubble wrap, filling gaps around the legs to prevent movement, and finally encased it in a custom-fitted thick cardboard sleeve.
After packaging, the furniture was transported to the warehouse for inventory and shipment preparation. During ocean transit, a dedicated customer service representative provided real-time updates on logistics progress. Upon arrival at the port, the local team expedited customs clearance, arranged vehicle delivery to the new residence, assisted with outer packaging removal, and positioned the furniture in designated rooms.
Every piece arrived flawless, exactly as packed. These cherished pieces carrying memories of life back home finally found their place in Canada. Mr. Li remarked, “Seapoe transports furniture, but safeguards the essence of home.”
