The Eames lounge chair has a wide curve and hogs space in a crate. The movers first split it into the chair body and the base, stacked the parts to cut volume, then packed it as one unit: pearl cotton wrapped tight against scratches and moisture, corner guards on every edge, and cardboard folded into a square that left no wasted space.
The Piemonte sofa, known as the tofu block sofa, already saves space by design, and the packing improved on that: pearl cotton over the surface, corner guards on all eight edges against crushing and impact, and the modules fitted tight and stacked close to solid, which lowered the freight cost.
With packing done, the shipment was loaded at Guangzhou Port, sailed to Germany, cleared customs through Seapoe's overseas team, and moved inland to Mr. Chen's new home in Munich.
On delivery day, the crew carried the furniture into the rooms he chose, stripped off all the packaging on site, and reassembled the simpler pieces. The new Munich home felt familiar from day one.
