Furniture Sea Freight from Shanghai to US Bay Area
Service Route: Shanghai to US Bay Area
Service Mode: Door-to-door one-stop moving service
Case Overview: Ms. Hua commissioned Seapoe International to ship furniture and household items from her Shanghai home to the US Bay Area by sea
Customer Story
Ms. Hua admitted that she hadn't originally planned to ship this much stuff by sea. Her first thought was to just check a few essentials in luggage and buy new things once she arrived in the US.
But there was one thing she couldn't bear to leave behind — her son's barely-used 3D printer! The machine was practically new and worked perfectly fine, yet replacing it in the US would cost way more. After going back and forth, she decided to bring it along. She asked around at many freight forwarders and they all said no. But after confirming with Seapoe's sales team, they could handle the shipment. And since sea freight is billed by volume, the more you ship, the better the value! So Ms. Hua went through the rest of the household items, packed up 14 boxes in total, and had Seapoe Relo ship them to her home in the Bay Area.

A Surprisingly Hassle-Free Process
1. Scheduled Packing:
The movers came to the door and carefully sorted and packed every item. First layer: white cotton paper as a base to prevent friction. Second layer: pearl cotton wrap to cushion and absorb shock. Third layer: cardboard reinforcement against bumps and knocks. Fragile items were wrapped like works of art!

2. Reinforced Warehousing:
Once packed, the items were sent to the warehouse, repacked with international-grade packaging, and shipped out duty-free.
3. Shipping Progress:
Customer service kept her updated at every step. Just over two months later, everything landed safe and sound in the Bay Area.
4. Overseas Delivery:
Seapoe has a warehouse in the Western US — dedicated truck delivery, plus local movers who carried everything right into the house. All 14 boxes arrived completely intact!

Customer Feedback
To be honest, throughout the entire ocean shipping process, the customer had two main worries:
- Whether the furniture and household items would make it out of China without a hitch
- Whether the 3D printer would get damaged crossing the ocean
Both concerns were resolved smoothly. Ms. Hua said this was her first time shipping this many belongings from Shanghai to the Bay Area by sea, and it turned out to be quite a learning experience in international moving.
