Case summary: Ms. Zhou entrusted Seapoe with shipping the used furniture and household items from her home in Guangzhou to Toronto, Canada.

Ms. Zhou is a new immigrant about to settle in Toronto. She grew up in the family home in Guangzhou, and the furniture there means a lot to her, so she wanted to bring it all along to her new home. A friend recommended Seapoe Relo, and she learned the company has plenty of experience with immigrant moves: packing at the door, customs declaration, customs clearance and delivery, all handled start to finish. There's also a warehouse in Guangzhou, which made things convenient. She went with Seapoe.

1. Door-to-door packing in Guangzhou

Seapoe's team first visited free of charge to measure the volume of everything Ms. Zhou planned to ship and gave her a quote for reference. Once the job was confirmed, the packing crew arrived with a full set of materials and packed all the used furniture on site: solid wood pieces wrapped in four layers of protection, fragile items and appliances given custom protection. The entire packing process was photographed for the record. When packing was done, the goods went straight to Seapoe's Guangzhou warehouse for storage until shipment.

2. Customs declaration and ocean freight

After the inventory check came back correct, our customs team prepared all the declaration documents in advance and handled the export formalities on her behalf. Once cleared, we booked the earliest available sailing on the China–Canada route. Real-time tracking was provided throughout, so Ms. Zhou could check the latest position of her shipment whenever she wanted.

3. Canadian customs clearance and delivery

As the shipment neared the Port of Toronto, our clearance team contacted Ms. Zhou in advance to get her new-immigrant documentation ready, handled all import clearance formalities, and used her new immigrant status to apply for a duty exemption, ensuring quick and smooth entry. After clearance, a local Toronto delivery team brought the goods to her home by dedicated truck, carried everything inside, unpacked and placed the items, did light assembly, and finally cleared away all the packing waste.
